Children who have positive experiences at the dentist are more likely to take care of their teeth in later life
Here at Rai Dental Surgery, we recommend that you bring your child for regular dental examinations from a young age, so that they can get to know the surroundings in practice and what is involved in a check-up. When they’re very young, we will be able to see them as part of your appointment time, and once we’ve finished checking their teeth they will be able to sit with us and watch us examine Mummy or Daddy’s mouth too.
We know that sometimes children can be wary about visiting the dentist, especially if they think it might be painful or uncomfortable. You can rest assured that every member of our team is highly experienced when it comes to dealing with little ones, and will make sure they feel calm and know that there’s nothing to worry about. We like to make sure children feel at home and like they can be themselves when they’re in practice, so that the dentist isn’t a place they come to fear in later life.
We strongly believe that a foundation of good dental care and oral hygiene in childhood can dramatically affect your child’s attitude to taking care of their teeth and mouth in later life. That’s why we encourage you to not only bring them for regular check-ups, but also ensure they have routine hygienist appointments too, especially if they wear a brace when they’re a little older.
