We might be on a main road, but our practice is calm and relaxing
Rai Dental Surgery has been established for over 50 years, but has been in the capable hands of our current owner Manjit since 1990.
We’re easy to get to, located close to several transport links including railway stations and major roads. You might think this means that the practice feels noisy and busy, but in fact it’s quite the opposite. We have carefully considered the décor in practice, helping it to feel calm and serene, and many patients have commented on its surprisingly tranquil atmosphere. Our main consultation room also looks out over the garden, which was one of the main factors that drew our owner Manjit to the practice in the first place.
But you won’t just feel relaxed and at ease when you visit us – you’ll know you’re being listened to and taken care of too. Our dedicated team are all committed to providing an excellent experience for every one of our patients, regardless of the treatment they might need.
We feel that getting to know you as a person helps to enhance your dental care; the more we know about you, the more we can tailor our treatment and recommendations to ensure that you receive the best possible outcome. And our five star reviews from patients suggest that we’re hopefully on the right track.
We have a qualified ‘oral health educator’ to help you take the best possible care of your mouth
You probably know that many health professionals recommend that you have a check-up with a dentist every six months, to make sure your teeth and mouth are healthy. But do you know exactly what we look for in a dental examination, and why it’s so important for you?
Many people think that the only purpose of a check-up is for the dentist to check that your teeth are clean and there are no obvious problems in your mouth. While this is generally true, we also carry out a range of other assessments too, including looking for signs of gum disease as well as serious conditions like oral cancer.
A lot of the problems we detect in patients’ mouths are down to lifestyle – particularly diet choices, smoking, and brushing technique. Research has shown that improving patients’ understanding of the implications of these choices can often improve the state of their oral health, and that’s why our dental nurse is also a qualified ‘oral health educator.’
Bobby has a comprehensive knowledge of all the factors that can cause problems and disease within your mouth. She will take the time to get to know you and your lifestyle and preferences, before making specific recommendations to help you reduce the chances of needing complex dental care to correct problems in later life.
